I had to see my gynecologist Friday due to a stinging sensation in my pelvic area. Back in December I had a bladder infection that caused the same symptom and also burning when urinating. No bladder infection was found this time but I still am having stinging in the pelvic area and a pelvic exam was done and there was a small amount of tenderness. I also have not had a period in almost two months. Could the lack of period cause the above symptoms in itself? My gyno said it could for someone not going through menopause yet. She did ask if I felt mostly pressure or tenderness, it was mostly pressure with a small amount of tenderness. She did another pap smear as I had an abnormal one back in January that showed inflammation due to a prolonged period from uterine fibroids. I am not using the bathroom any extra amount but do feel I guess an overactive bladder feeling. Thanks.

Answer
Did you discuss with your gynecolgist about estrogen replacemnet. You are probably pre-menopausal and your estrogen levels will decrease and cause changes in the pelvic area.
