HI, I was hurt about 4 months ago, I hade suffered a poste
HI, I was hurt about 4 months ago, I hade suffered a posterior disc hernia ion at L-5 - S1. They also said that i have a slight mass-effect or irritation upon the origin of the s1 nerve root. I have not hade any surgeries. now about 4 month latter i am having problems, i cant really tell when i got to go urinate, just a little bit of tingling . its just been going by its self most of the time i also got some tingling in my genitals and no my back side. Can the L5-S1 injury even case incontinence?? and if i have incontinence wouldn't i have buowl incontinence to? and it it normal to urinate 5 to 8 times a day??

Answer
The lumbar 5 to sacral 1 nerves can impact bladder function. It can either cause incontinence or retention (inability to empty your bladder). So you need to see a urologist and have your bladder investigated. Also, discuss it with your neurologist.
