I have a month ago given birth to a baby girl, and been told that she has to have her bladder expressed to make sure it is empty, i didn't think that was an option anymore i thought that i would have to use a catheter, the doctor never mentioned a catheter and i did ask. I have tried to express her bladder but she doesn't like me pressing her tummy how can i get round this so that i express her and know that her bladder is completely empty.

Answer
I really do not know. You need to speak with the pediatrician. If you daughter is retaining urine it can cause infections so you may want to see a pediatric urologist.
