RE: Suprapubic catheters-our neurogenic pt population is req

RE: Suprapubic catheters-our neurogenic pt population is requesting to 'clamp' their SPT for intervals (2-4 hrs) during the day. We have one urologist that thinks it's ok,the others are against. Your thoughts?

I do not understand the reason for clamping an SP tube. It may cause bladder overactivity or some other problem. It is hard for me to make a comment on this if I do not know why the person wnats to clamp teh catheter.
