I had prostate cancer surgery 21 months ago and I am still having significant problems with incontinence. My doctor keeps telling me that things will get better and that I should be patient. I am less optomistic as every thing that I have been reading tells me that the incontinence should have cleared by now. Is it too late and what are my options?

Answer
I think you need a very structured pelvic floor muscle exercise program with biofeedback. I have seen several men, months to years after surgery and they do improve with an aggressive muscle rehabiltitation program. It should be surpervised by a person experienced in this area. Speak with your doctor as he must know of a specialist in your area.
