For the last 10 years i have had an indwelling catheter to empty bladder. Within that time i have had no problems. Just recently after i had removed the catheter i cleaned my genital area and across my bladder area and was shocked to feel that my bladder was full, i have asked my incontinence nurse and she doesnot know the answer my question which is should i press into the bladder area and express the urine that is in before i replace the catheter

Answer
If you have an indwelling catheter, I would press over your bladder before the catheter is changed to make sure all the urine is being drained from your bladder. But if you quickly replace the catheter and drain the urine in your bladder, you should not have a problem.
