I believe I have stress incontinence and I am only 19. I urinate when I laugh and it happens somewhat frequently. It is a problem I have dealt with all my life. When I was younger, I thought I would grow out of it, but the problem has not improved. I wear pads every time I go out with friends but they sometimes fail. I gather that stress incontinence is common in aging people but I don't see much about stress incontinence occuring in teenagers. Knowing that this is a lifelong problem for me, is it common in people my age? What could be the cause? Could it be genetic?

If you are very active - do sports then this may be triggering you stress incontinence. It may mean you have pelvic floor muscle weakness.
