Does anyone know a weight loss strategy???
Hi, I am 23 years old and have been gaining on pounds and this is getting to me. The thing is that after several efforts of exercise and dieting, I don’t seem to get any slimmer! There are many ways to lose weight, but I have exhausted all the ways I know. I have consulted a few people but all of them have been telling me the same thing. It isn’t helping me and only making my fears worse.

Is there some way to make me feel better!!!

Ideas for losing weight
Losing weight is not easy for anyone and gets harder as you get older. I know that won't make you feel better but here are some things to try.

1. Make an appointment with your doctor to see if there is some hidden reason you are gaining weight.

2. Buy a calorie counter book and a diary. Record daily what you eat and how many calories you consume per day. This is only for your own eyes so be brutally honest. You should weigh your portions and calculate calories based on units. Your daily calorie intake should be somewhere below 2000.

3. Use an exercise calculator to learn how many calories you burn per period of exercise. For example, if you walk for 30 minutes daily, you can calculate the number of calories this activity burns per day.

4. Once you have all of this information, you should be able to come up with a number of calories to eliminate per day based on the number of calories you burn each day. If you can cut your intake by this amount, you should lose weight.

5. You might want to join a group like weight watchers -- the support would help you feel better right away.

Good luck.

hello all,
Wow, 5 litres of water per day----you'd be living in the bathroom. Here I thought 3 litres per day was more than enough unless it is a very hot summer day.

I agree with the idea of going for a walk or jog each day, but make sure you do not hurt your knees or back in the process.

Well, I am not a medical professional, so all I can say is what I've learned from my own experience.

I tried traditional exercise and diets - even seeing a nutiritionist and following the program religiously; counting calories and fat. And I worked out every day with my friend 'til she dropped and I kept going. She lost weight, and I gained! Imagine my frustration.

After 20 years of trying several diets and workouts without success, a friend of mine recommended a book to me: "The Metabolism Miracle" by Diane Kress, RD, CDE.

This book explains that traditional diet and exercise programs work for some, but not all of us. And it gives intriguing reasons why. I have been following it for a couple of weeks now, and I am seeing results. My clothes fit better and the numbers on the scale are dropping. My exercise program is walking - 30 minutes 5 times per week.

There are a few reasons I like this program.

1) You are encouraged you to eat your veggies (certain ones), lean protein, and a reasonable amount of fat. So, it's not a fad diet - like eat nothing but pineapples for 3 days or some other crazy thing.

2) It has 3 stages. The first stage helps you reduce insulin resistance, the 2nd stage is a balanced diet that you can live on and is designed to be followed until you reach your goal, and the 3rd stage to maintain your weight loss.

3) The first 3 days are hard, just like the book says it will be. But I no longer crave sugar or carbs (you can eat carbs, by the way). I'm not even tempted to cheat! I can't believe how easy this program is for me.

4) I FEEL better! I no longer have that energy crash in the afternoon. I have energy all day! In the past, there were times where I'd feel like I was in a mental fog. That doesn't happen any more. And I am just more relaxed.

I hope you find success in your weight loss goals!

weight loss strategy
Exercise is essential for weight loss

It's nothing new, but exercise is probably the most important predictor of whether you will succeed at long term weight loss and weight loss maintenance. In order for exercise to be helpful in weight loss, you should strive for a minimum of five 30 minute sessions per week. The good news is that recent research has shown that three 10 minute sessions in a day are as good as one 30 minute session. This helps many in combating the old "no time for exercise" excuse. Be certain to find something you enjoy. You'll be more apt to stick with it. Try walking with a friend, joining an intramural sports league, participating in outings with a group like The Sierra Club, or trying some classes at your local gym. Once you give exercise a chance, you will begin to enjoy its positive benefits on your psyche as well; you will literally become "hooked."

Hi there... I'm here to share.
If you’re into junk foods please you’ve got to stop it. Start eating good foods; take your diet, your nutrition and fitness very well. If you really want to take out some lbs on your body take this tips:
Do an herbal cleanse.
Do a colons cleanse.
Food combine.
Eat fruit on an empty stomach.
Don’t eat after 8 pm.
Eat fruit for breakfast.
Take enzymes with your meals.
Have a salad with all meals.

And don’t forget these 3 things:
• Diet
• Exercise
• Mindset

Tansen, have you had any luck? Losing weight is not easy! Hopefully you went to the doctor to make sure that there wasn't an underlying problem as to why you weren't losing weight. I tried several different strategies over many years and had no luck either. I had my thyroid tested and was told that it was low, but it was still in the normal range. No matter what I do, I can't lose weight. I know how you feel!

Hello!

I lost 20 pounds in 3 months by doing the following:

- going to the gym 3 times a week
- 3 -5 miles run 1 or 2 times a week
- 1 hour or longer walk every day

food I ate:

- chicken white meat and fish
- soup
- rice
- very little pastry
- any salad
- any fruit
- no bread
- sweets in form of healthy protein rich chocolate bar if I had to

I did not deprive myself of anything. If I really wanted to eat something, like pizza, hamburger or chocolate, I ate it, but IN MODERATION. A small portion of those was enough to satisfy me.

When you are hungry throughout the day, or just FEEL like you should eat - eat a carrot or an apple.

I even drank a bottle of beer every day, it was something I did not want to part with, and I still ended up losing a lot of weight.

I hope it helps, good luck to you!
