Testosterone therapy for chronic fatigue syndrome
I am looking for some advice on this. I was dx'd with CFIDS in September of 2011. After many tests, i was found to have low T levels. 285 total, but my free and bioavailable were 39 and 89, both below normal. I started taking T injections weekly...100 mcg. After 2 months, this was upped to 200. My levels were tested again, and had barely moved up. I went up to 400 mcg weekly...my levels now are 550 total, 78 free, and 173 bioavailable. I feel maybe 20% better than before (any improvement is great), but my doc is curious why these haven't increased more....he wants me in the middle to upper part of the normal range for both free and bioavailable as he thinks this will being more improvement. BUT...that means injecting either 550-600 mcg weekly which seems very high, and would shut down my internal system. I would love more improvment to my condition (CFS sucks...quality of life impaired). Am a risking something more serious here if I inject at these levels????
