Energy Problems
I have been using Androgel for about a year. I had my pituitary removed nine years ago and my testosterone was “normal” at 700, both prior and after. After an alert doctor listened to me last year and tests were done, my levels were less than 100.
I was placed on one package a day and that seemed to help for about a month or so. My levels were about 400 to 500; then I “tanked” was sleeping for days on end, and when I went back my levels were less than 100 again.
About five months ago they placed me on two packages a day, this has no effect, as I am still tired most of the time and the levels were somewhere around 250 to 255.

I was placing the Androgel on my shoulders and arms but I sweat a lot and figured it would wash off. The Endo could not tell me if once applied it would get washed off or not. I then started to rub it on the thigh and I thought that did the trick, but after two days of feeling good I was back to sleeping most days.

I was told to try three packages a day to see if that helps. I just started it on Monday and am doing one in the morning then five hours or so later, then one later on in the evening. It has been six days and I have felt pretty good since then.

I have asked the Endo if using Androgel is like other medication in respect to your body becoming accustomed to the medication and it requires more to get the same effect and what I was told, well was just double talk.

Has anyone else had this problem? I am aware of Testim and someone in my class also has the same problem and he was placed on Testim, but he switched to Androgel.

Is placing this on one body spot better than another? Again I was just told to “rub it in”.

Monday I go back to have levels checked but I figure that if I am still feeling this good, then maybe it is just that I am not getting enough. I am told that three packages a day is a lot and that too much testosterone will be converted into something, which I can’t remember and that it could cause cancer.

If anyone else has this problem or has a suggestion, I am all ears. After the many ups and downs this past year, I am getting very tired of it all.
Thanks
Timmahhny
