Like you I used Androgel for about 5 months, the 2nd and 3 month showed good improvement in my mental health and energy, but it did nothing for my libido or erections ( which I had no problem with anyway)After the 3rd month everything went back to pretreatment levels i.e. blood count, energy, disposition etc. I changed over to Testim about 30 days ago and can see lots of change in many areas, especially libido and erections (nightime during sleep) that wake me up. My energy level is back up and like you I have gained about 5 lbs in muscle mass. If I stay where I'm at now I will be satisfied, but I am wondering if I will have the same reaction to Testim that I experienced with Androgel after about 2-3 months.<br> Since starting to use this medication I have researched many, many avenues of steriods and long term use. I really can't find any negatives to speak of since this doseage is really very, very small when compared to those who abuse steriods. In fact I'm not sure that when used in doseages this small there is a real need to have federal restrictions on its use ( class III ). This is the only medication I have ever used in my life other than Advil or aspirin (I'm 64) so as one can see I consider using medication a long time before taking them. The other thing that bugs me, that other than the fact it has FDA approval, there is no reason for the high price for this item. This should be a generic drug and while I'm not sure about over the counter sales, it certainly should be a drug one could ask the druggist for in a compound.
