i am sending this email to thank you for your advice it couldn't have come at a better my catheter was due to changed on the day i received the email. After i read your email reply i went and laid down on my bed and felt my bladder for fullness and it was full so i pressed down over my bladder and felt the urine flow out and then saw it in the drainage bag, i pressed for 5 minutes to make sure it was empty. I always thought that if you had an indwelling catheter you shouldn't express your bladder because you could pop the balloon. and do damage to your bladder.
