Q: Which depth of penetration adjustment should I use?

A: Choose settings #1 or #2 for soft, thinner skin for a sufficient blood drop, or on average skin for a smaller blood drop. Choose setting #3 for average skin (not too thin or thick) to obtain a sufficient blood drop, or settings #4 or #5 for thicker, calloused skin or for a larger blood sample size requirement.

Q: Can the auto-Lancet be used on the forearm?

A: The auto-Lancet alone is not intended to be used on the forearm because the adjustable tip is not designed to properly coax a blood drop from the forearm.

Q: How do I clean the device after use?

A: Use 70% rubbing alcohol or soap and water to wipe the outside of the lancing device. For more complete cleaning, remove the tip, wash it in warm water and rinse well. Do not clean the auto-Lancet in the dishwasher.

Q: How do I safely dispose of a used lancet?

A: In order to avoid an accidental scratch or puncture, make sure that you reapply the safety cap of the disposable lancet without picking it up with your fingers. You can do this by resting the cap on a surface and by pressing the used needle against it. When the cap securely covers the used lancet, remove it with your fingers and dispose of it in a proper biohazard container.

Q: Can the auto-Lancet be used on more than one person?

A: The auto-Lancet is intended for the single user. To avoid exposure to contaminants, do not use the auto-Lancet on multiple users.
