SeekWellness.com is a website owned by a group of professional health care providers and consumers.

Our mission is very simple: Through SeekWellness.com, we will encourage, empower, and support health care consumers to improve their level of wellness by providing information, services and products, all chosen with the consumer’s best interests in mind.

Funds to maintain SeekWellness.com are provided by private investors, advertisements, sponsorships and consulting arrangements with various companies, all of which are displayed within the website pages.

Who are the Participants?

DON ARDELL, Ph.D.

Wellness Center Director (e-mail)

Don's first book in 1977 helped spark the wellness movement and perhaps you have heard of it -- High Level Wellness: An Alternative to Doctors, Drugs, and Disease, printed by Rodale Press, Bantam Books and Ten Speed Press. Don has written a lot of other books on self management for lifestyle artistry since High Level Wellness (15 to be exact), including Die Healthy, 14 Days To Wellness and The Book of Wellness: A Secular Approach to Spirituality, Meaning and Purpose. Since 1984, Don has written and produced 56 editions of a provocative quarterly newsletter called the ARDELL WELLNESS REPORT. If that were not enough, he also writes a weekly electronic self- management newsletter; both publications are now a part of the Wellness Center. Don has degrees from George Washington University, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Stanford University and The Union Institute in Ohio. He is also a high school graduate! A member of the board of trustees of the National Wellness Institute for eight years, Don is also one of ten Americans given the Healthy America Fitness Leaders Award in 1991 by the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, Allstate Insurance Company and the U.S. Jaycees.

LENORE HOWE, BS, MS

Lenore has a M.S. in Internet Strategy Management from the Graduate Center at Marlboro College and a B.S. in public health from the University of Massachusetts with an emphasis in Medical Technology. She has worked in government research and run her own consulting firm specializing in human services planning and rural development. In 1994, she founded Health Search, a service that provides medical information to those who need it. "The main goal of Health Search is to empower people at a time when they feel the least powerful - when they or someone they love has a serious illness." In 1995, Lenore became a regular columnist for WellnessWeb. In 1996, she was appointed Editor of Alternative/Complementary Medicine and later that year, she became Executive Editor. In December 2001, Lenore started her own company, Wellness Partners LLC, in order to continue working on behalf of health consumers around the globe. Her articles on health topics and patients' use of the Internet have appeared in a variety of magazines and journals.

DIANE K. NEWMAN, RNC, MSN, CRNP, FAAN

Incontinence Center Director (e-mail)

Diane K. Newman is a certified adult nurse practitioner who has been practicing in the field of urology since 1976 and in the area of incontinence since 1986. She is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in the non-invasive, non-surgical treatment of urinary incontinence and related problems. She is Co-Director of the PENN Center for Continence and Pelvic Floor Disorders at the Division of Urology, the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. In collaboration with urologists Drs. Eric Rovner and Alan Wein, this will be a regional center of excellence for the diagnosis and treatment of all types of voiding dysfunction. Diane Newman is a visiting professor at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, College of Nursing. She has consistently distinguished herself in the field of UI in acute, long-term and home care environments, and is the developer of a nationally recognized comprehensive program for the treatment of urinary incontinence. Diane is the author of the Urinary Incontinence Sourcebook, available in our bookstore and is preparing a second book for publication in 202.

CHRIS STEIDLE, MD

Director of Male and Female Sexual Problems Centers (e-mail)

Dr. Steidle is the principal investigator for the Northeast Indiana Research Group specializing in the area of impotence and urology. He has a practice in Fort Wayne, Indiana and is the author of two books, The Impotence Sourcebook and testosterone, a user’s manual, featured in our Online Bookstore.

What Will SeekWellness Do in the future?

SeekWellness plans to bring new products and services to it visitors including:
